Each day I spent standing on the shore waiting for a sunset across the Lahaina Roads brought a different dramatic scene. Here, away from the sandy beaches, we were treated to an almost blinding reflection off the water’s surface as the sun began it’s descent for the night.
The unprocessed jpeg image straight from the camera really exhibits the extreme dynamic range of the scene, but the above image illustrates the amount of data recorded by modern sensors and able to be brought out with current software.
