Both images were taken from the same spot just moments apart, and though the viewpoint of the camera is shifted, the dramatic difference was created by the change in the sun’s position on the horizon.
When the sun drops farther below the horizon, there is a warmer shift in colors and the foreground is illuminated by a reflection of the light coming from homes. Larry Shapiro photo
