After completing an assignment at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, I witnessed an incredible sunset with no unobstructed view available to capture the sky. I was able to get in an elevator at a nearby parking garage and race to the top floor which gave me the largest area to grab a few shots before Mother Nature’s show was over. This is not a traditional Chicago sunset with the famous skyline, but rather a small window showing a portion of the downtown area.

The entire time elapsed between exiting the building and capturing less than a dozen frames was probably five minutes. After that, the brilliance was gone.
