While returning from an overnight fire, I found myself in a position to stop and capture a beautiful reflection of a winter sunrise at the Skokie Lagoons just outside of Winnetka (IL). I was tired, cold, and ready to go home to begin editing the fire scene photos. Conditions though were ideal to hang out for a short while hoping for a beautiful scene.
I was rewarded with a dramatic sunrise amplified by a glass-like reflection in the water.

Due to the wide dynamic range of values from the darkest shadows to the brightness of the rising sun, I used a 1-stop variation in a 5-stop range to insure I had all the information that was necessary to combine into one, full-range file.
