Johnson Street Bridge in Victoria

Dorothy came with me on a recent trip into Canada where we visited Victoria, BC. We walked from our hotel to dinner across the Johnson Street Bridge at dusk. As I looked back where we came from, I saw this beautiful sunset behind the bridge. The steel structure, painted a bright blue, had a real gritty look to it that was offset by the sublet colors in the sky behind it.

Although it was bulkier than my phone, I was determined to carry my DSLR to dinner knowing that we’d have an opportunity for nice sunset..

I made only minor adjustments to the image from the camera. I added a touch of increased Vibrance in Lightroom, a small amount of Clarity for texture, and with a gradient exposing the bottom half of the image I increased the White slider with the Shadows.
