Staunton State Park

During our visit to Conifer, Colorado, we travelled through Staunton State Park in search of locations for an assignment. Every turn we took it seemed was more beautiful than the last. Trails, mountains, pine forests, and vast prairies with tall grass that was driven by the wind.

Here are several images along our path. The elevation was about 9,100 feet.

The mountain above the trees was beautiful but not easily accessible for the line of sight for my truck shoot. Larry Shapiro photo

Recent rains have kept this area green when it might normally have been very dry at this time of year. Larry Shapiro photo

Though I couldn’t use this backdrop with a truck, I might use it for a future project that I build digitally, Larry Shapiro photo

I thought this combination of grass over the rocks was somewhat of a unique departure from the normally harsh rocks. Larry Shapiro photo
