Automatic baling machine at work producing bales of straw

One of the locations we used in Stewiacke (pronounced stew-e-ack) Nova Scotia was on a farm. On our way out, we noticed a farmer driving a tractor with a baling machine and a large open trailer. Neither of us had ever seen this before … so I had to get out and take some photos … and video segments. Watching the automatic baling machine at work producing bales of straw was somewhat humorous to see.

Here’s what we saw:

Just kind of fun to watch ’em shooting out. Larry Shapiro photo

It’s not stacking very neatly, but neatness doesn’t count in this process. Larry Shapiro photo

All of a sudden there’s a loud bang and a finished bale of straw shoots out from the baler into the trailer. Larry Shapiro photo
