Devastation from the Emerald Ash Borer

Ash trees which were abundant in our town, like thousands of others, have been ravished because of devastation from the Emerald Ash Borer. After several years of conventional tree cutting, the task became overwhelming and a systematic approach to clear cutting and entire neighborhood was undertaken.

This contractor used a Timberpro Feller Buncher which could function in one of two manners. It has a claw to grab large sections of a tree before using an integral blade to cut the branch which it then fed into a chipper.

The other method, used in conjunction with the first, was to grab a tree trunk that was cut by a worker with a chainsaw before either forcing it into a chipper or stacking it for later removal if it was too large.
