I took a wrong turn during rush hour in Northern California and ended up on CA-92, a two-lane road that traversed a mountain towards the Pacific Ocean. I had no choice but to continue and make an adventure out of the ordeal as the other side of the road was a solid parking lot.
I ended up in Half Moon Bay which is right on the ocean. It was late afternoon and I decided to stay so I could capture a beautiful Half Moon Bay sunset.
The sky was perfectly clear the two previous nights so the sunsets were extremely harsh until the sun dropped below the horizon, then although beautiful, they merely presented a smooth glow. This sunset has the benefit of moderate cloud cover in random shapes that create dramatic textures and abstract designs.
