Dorothy accompanied me on a recent trip that took us along Route 550 in New Mexico. It was a quick trip and we were strapped for time, but we pulled off onto the shoulder several times because we had to get our cameras and capture the breathtaking views. The mountainous rock was so incredibly diverse in color and texture that we wanted to stop every few miles or so. Most shots were rushed as we just jumped out of the car onto the shoulder, continually calculating the time we had to catch our flight in Albuquerque.
We were coming from Colorado and the most picturesque area was along the last stretch the highway 550 in New Mexico. This impacted our time allotment for photography since we stopped multiple times before reaching this section.
I’ll have more images from the beginning of the trip in Colorado.
