Gorgeous Halifax sunrise

Dorothy and I had an early morning flight the other day since Nova Scotia is in the Atlantic timezone which is one hour ahead of the East Coast. We awoke at 4:15AM ADT, and we tried not to equate that to 2:15AM CDT. Anyway, suffice it to say it was early. By the time we arrived at our gate, the sun was beginning to rise on the horizon. Fortunately we were on the east side of the airport and were able to watch this absolutely gorgeous Halifax sunrise across the airfield.

I never get tired of watching and documenting the show that Mother Nature creates as no two are the same. Larry Shapiro photo

As all the other passengers raced to the window with their smartphones, I quickly unpacked my Canon 5DMKIII and carefully balanced it against the glass to start capturing images. The cropping is odd because half the frame was a lower roof of the terminal building.

It doesn’t take long for the view to change but it’s worthwhile to stay ready for the evolving show. Larry Shapiro photo
